2010 Alberta Spec-D Practice Info

May - 13, 20 June - 3, 10, 17 July - 8, 15, 29 August - 5, 19 September -2, 9, 16, 30 Entry Fees: Driver: $40 Spectator: $10 Hours of Operation: 5pm Gates Open 5pm Tech Open 6pm Drivers Meeting 9pm-10pm Drifting Ends (light dependant) Calgary: May - 12, 26 June - 9, 23 July - 7, 21 August - 11, 25 September - 8, 22 Driver: $50 Spectator: $10 *note - Driver admission will go down to $40 if there is adequate support from drivers and spectators alike* Hours of Operation: 5pm Gates Open 5pm Tech Open 6pm Drivers Meeting 9pm-10pm Drifting Ends (light dependant) If you miss the drivers meeting: When you arrive to the track find a tech person, they will go over your car and go over the track with you, please do not guess what the track looks like, we dont need another roll-over on the first day. Spec-D Rules and Regulations In mutual agreement of Castrol Raceway, Race City and Spec-D, zero tolerance rules have been put into effect for the 2010 drift season for your safety and for the safety of everyone attending the event. Anyone caught breaking ANY of these rules will be escorted from the event but is welcome to any event after that day. If mistreatment of facility or people attending event consists, the corresponding person or persons will be banned from the remainder of the 2010 Spec-D drift season. 1) ABSOLUTELY NO alcohol, drugs or alcohol consumption is permitted on the premises by drivers and spectators alike. 2) Any burnouts, tire squawks, or stunting is not permitted anywhere but on the Drift Pad. 3) Anyone found outside designated spectator or drift area (in vehicles or on foot) shall be escorted from the premises for the remainder of the given event. 4) All drivers MUST complete the following prior to clearance onto the Drift Pad: - have car inspected and passed by tech. - have given number and tech marking visible. - have proper gear (including helmet). - attend drivers meeting. - read and sign rules/waiver in agreement, compliance and understanding. 5) ABSOLUTELY NO Tandem Practices of any kind will take place. If a tandem is to be commenced the persons involved WILL be escorted off the Castrol Raceway premises for remainder of given event, and possibly banned for the remainder of the season; as in accordance with Castrol Raceway. 6) Anyone caught vandalizing any property of Castrol Raceway/Race City (excluding damages on Drift Pad) shall be held personally and financially responsible for the repair or replacement of damaged property. 7) Disrespect for other drivers, Spec-D personnel or Drift Marshall will result in the escorting from premises for remainder of given event. Castrol Raceway, Race City and Spec-D are not responsible for: - Any damages to vehicles. - Any lost broken or stolen property. - Any personal injury sustained. YOU ARE DRIFTING AT YOUR OWN RISK! Spec-D waives any and all responsibility to personal injury or damaged caused to vehicles due to inexperience or drivers proceeding through courses beyond their personal skill level. Should personal injury occur, paramedics notified via 9-1-1. Spec-D reserves the right to deny any refund of admission to any spectator or driver in direct violation of the aforesaid rules/ waiver. Spec-D, Castrol Raceway and Race City also reserves the right to revise and amend the above rules/ waiver throughout the season to accommodate any overlooked or new issues. Thank you and have fun. The Tech sheets are as follows, and will need to been be signed and along with the R&R sheet: Driver Name:_________________________ Vehicle:_____________________________ ___ 1) Acceptable amount of rubber on front tires. ___ 2) No fluid leaks (oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid). ___3) Battery is firmly secure. ___ 4) Absolutely no loose items in the vehicle. ___ 5) All lug-nuts in place. ___ 6) Secure and adequate suspension. ___ 7) Tight steering, no significant play. ___ 8 ) Functional brake system (petal and hand-brake). ___ 9) All body panels enclosing internals necessary. ___ 10) D.O.T. approved helmet or higher necessary for all occupants. ___ 11) No loose or hanging wires. ___ 12) Seats and harnesses properly secured and mounted. ___ 13) Driver wearing long pants with closed toed shoes. so excited! lame that we cant work out a way to tandem practice though, would make the events so much better.

I'm talking with Jones Brown today specifically about that... if Castrol doesn't want them yet I'll look into doing it at Race City to show Castrol that it can be done in a safe and effective manner.

how come prices went up?

because if there are 10 cars on average at each practice that is 700 dollars more at the end of the year! more money is always better. plus maybe rental fees or something went up? who knows. 50 for calgary seems a bit nutty though.
